Bowie State Hosts Akwasidae Kesie Festival Celebrating Ghanaian Culture


Approximately 3,000 attendees greeted His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, King of the Asante Kingdom of Ghana, at a vibrant celebration of Ghanaian culture at Bulldog Stadium. The event concluded a historic Washington, D.C. gathering of Africa's most influential voices in government and business.

Moore welcomes record Maryland Corps class, calls service a source of hope

At the launch of the largest-ever Maryland Corps / Service Year Option cohort, Gov. Wes Moore called service “a source of hope.” Bowie State University President Aminta H. Breaux highlighted the program’s impact, noting Bowie State has hosted and hired participants and urging more organizations to become host sites as the initiative continues to grow.

A new doctoral pathway at Bowie State University is strengthening the future of nursing education
