Bowie State Secures Top Recruiting Class for 2026 Season

On National Signing Day, Bowie State University welcomed its largest cohort of top-tier student athletes ever. Twenty-five new recruits, including five four-star prospects and three highly talented three-star high school athletes committed to Bowie State in order to pursue an exceptional collegiate experience.

Doughty, the vice president for intercollegiate athletics and recreation, spent 11 years transforming university facilities and student offerings — reopening the pool and building an aquatics program, establishing a nutrition lounge, improving the physical education complex, creating new locker room spaces and upgrading the tennis courts. He also led Bowie State teams to multiple CIAA championships, including three consecutive titles in football and softball and a men’s basketball victory.
