While pursuing his graduate degree in English, professors urged him to turn class assignments into publishable work, culminating in his essay’s publication in a Caribbean literary journal.

Cheers to the 2026 Softball team on winning historic back-to-back CIAA regular season titles for the first time in history! Good luck to the No. 1 seeded Bulldogs at this week's CIAA Tournament in Orangeburg, SC as seniors Coreena "Coco" Dunham and Ryan Fraser play their final games.


All quarterfinal, semifinal and championship games this weekend will be broadcast live via the CIAASN - https://theciaasn.com/. Live stats will be available on bsubulldogs.com. The Bulldogs begin tournament play on Thursday, May 7 against No. 4 seed Winston-Salem State University at 10 a.m.

Bowie State University partners with Prince George's County to offer fast track admissions

BSU and PGCPS announced a fast-track direct-admissions program for eligible PGCPS graduating seniors. The partnership creates a simplified admissions pathway and provides coordinated support, including application workshops, Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) completion events and activities to support students as they transition from high school to college.

Bowie State Alum Jakeya Johnson Could Become Youngest Black Woman Elected to Congress

She earned her Master of Public Administration and Policy from Bowie State. In 2022, the university named Johnson as one of the first students in its philanthropy fellowship program, and later identified her as an MPA student serving through a fellowship with the Tides Foundation. Johnson credits Bowie as the place where her policy work took shape.
