BSU Community,

We want to ensure our campus community is informed and prepared with accurate guidance regarding federal immigration enforcement actions. Bowie State University is committed to maintaining a safe, supportive and respectful environment for all students, faculty and staff, and we encourage everyone to familiarize themselves with the available information and resources.

Our Guidance Related to Federal Immigration Enforcement webpage outlines what to do if you encounter U.S. Immigration & Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials on campus, including your rights and responsibilities. We strongly encourage you to review this information to better understand appropriate protocols and how to respond.

To support awareness, a flyer and pocket card summarizing key guidance are available for download on the university’s website. These resources are designed to be easily accessible and provide quick reference information when needed.

Printed copies of the pocket card are also available at the following locations:

  • Information Desk at the Student Center
  • Main Desk at the Thurgood Marshall Library
  • Student Life Office (Student Center, Suite 3008)
  • Department of Public Safety (Theodore McKeldin Gymnasium, Room 1005 and
    Charlotte Robinson Hall, Room 103)
  • Human Resources (Charlotte Robinson Hall, Suite 100)

·         Office of Legal & Government Affairs (William E. Henry Administration Building, Suite 2300)

  • Division of Enrollment Management & Student Affairs (William E. Henry Administration Building, Suite 2600)

We encourage you to keep these materials accessible and to share them with others as appropriate.

If you receive a request from external law enforcement for information, records or access to a non-public space on campus, notify the Bowie State University Department of Public Safety immediately at (301) 860-4040.

Thank you for your attention to this important information and for helping us maintain a well-informed campus community.
