Bowie State University Secures Nearly $600,000 in State Grants to Advance Equity in Education and Strengthen Maryland’s Workforce

Bowie State University has been awarded more than $586,000 in new state funding to drive equity in education and strengthen Maryland’s workforce. The grants will launch two major initiatives: the Ujima SAGE Peer Consultation Project, which fosters culturally grounded collaboration among educators, and the Child Care Career and Professional Development Fund, which expands degree opportunities for child care providers. BSU Students Honor 9/11 With Care Packages for First Responders

This year marked the 24th anniversary of 9/11 and the Bowie State community came together for a day of service. Funded by a Transform Mid-Atlantic Campus Grant, Love East of the River and the BSU community assembled 300 care packages for Cedar Hill Regional Medical Center, the Washington Metropolitan Police Department and Howard University Hospital.
